Sure, the first thing is about politics and the second is a cartoon cat fight…never mind, they’re about the same thing.
(From ShortFormBlog and vintagegal.)
It’s cool, peace-loving Obama supporters. Ignore his increased drone strikes and the lies they’re telling about them while decrying “Bush’s war.” It’s super classy.
“But he’s cool and he hangs out with the cool kids!” is horrible reason to vote for someone once you’re done with high school. He’s running for President of the United States, not prom king. There are valid reasons to voice your support of Obama - pick one of those and run with it.
If there’s anything I hate more than politicians it’s voters.

Study: Republican Congresswomen Look Twice as ‘Feminine’ as Democrats
You can read women’s political ideology in their facial features. Call it the “The Bachmann Effect.”

What?
my friend Chris on politics
(Also: “It’s easy to be Libertarian or be on that side anyway, the government is doing a crap job at everything it does, and having them stop means less government”)
The problem with many political post (Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter) is that they aren’t necessarily well thought out, individual opinions. Half of them are something like: “Republicans hate women and gays and blacks so if you are one of those groups and vote Republican you’re dumb,” or, “Obama is a Kenyan Muslim and I want to see his birth certificate!” or, “Romney is a lame, rich, robotic crook,” or “Republicans want to rape you and force you to have the baby!” That last one was a slight exaggeration but you get the point. The worst are posts fan girling over how cool our President is and how that’s the reason you should vote for him. I don’t care if a Presidential candidate can make pop culture references or has a hip wife and nothing makes me hate Obama supporter posts more than the people saying that’s why you should vote for him. His Presidency is indeed flawed and to ignore those flaws because he has some snappy come back or whatever is just irresponsible. Decide the good outweighs the bad, by all means, but don’t get distracted by flashy PR and push that shit on me.
(Full disclosure: I pretty much dislike all politicians and think they’re just saying whatever they say to get votes but, according to some website I don’t remember the name of, I most agree with the Libertarian party candidate whose name I cannot even remember so…yeah.)
I guess I just don’t really get why this is news
are you serious? it’s a tremendous deal that the president personally AND politically supports gay marriage and backs the idea that they should be equal. he is the leader of this country and what he says goes most of the time. i don’t get why it WOULDN’T be news. are you forgetting how NO ONE in his level of power has had this same position? are you forgetting 30 states have banned gay marriage completely? it’s news because it is extremely important to know that the president of america is officially backing gay rights.
i mean it’s important but like
didn’t he also have a pretty cool position on guantanamo bay too
What does that have to do with this progress
literally nothing
My point is I don’t really feel like celebrating until
You know
He does something
He did do something. Speaking up is a gigantic deal
Is it?
That’s
Depressing
BREAKING: Obama Embraces Marriage Equality | ThinkProgress
Welcome, Mr. President. The mini-quiches have gone cold and the ice is all melted, but we’re glad you’re finally at the party.

Thank you.
The politics in this country makes me want to throw things.
I’m a mature adult, I promise.
Sometimes I feel like our President is more celebrity than world leader and it makes me sad.
You know what I noticed on Fox News last night, that was on Fox News
*headdesk* It’s standard practice to address former Governors, Presidents, etc. by their former office even when they quit or are kicked out of office. Ugh.
